Manorcunningham Pipe Band

The band has been a member of the IPBA since 1980's, however they have competed at the majority of local competitions organised by the RSPBANI branch due to their close proximity to Northern Ireland.

The band has enjoyed significant successes during their journey to grade 2. This includes 3 promotions in 4 seasons, 4 All Ireland titles in a row, 3 Ulster titles, 2 NI Champion of Champions as band and drum corp. Highlights of this include Cowal Champions 2007 and 2010, European Champions 2008, British Champions 2011 and World runners up in 2011. Also during this time the drum corp has won 2 European titles, 1 Scottish and 1 British as well as runners up at the World Championships in 2008 and 2010.The Band has qualified for the Grade 2 final of the World Pipe Band Championships in 2012 2013 and 2015

Situated between Londonderry and Letterkenny, Manorcunningham Pipe Band was formed in 1935 and are regarded as the most successful Pipe Band in Co. Donegal. The bands first tutor was Billy Radcliff who was Pipe Major of another local band in Carrigans. For the next 40 years they attended parades, Church services and other community events but never competed seriously until the 1980's under Pipe Major William Walker and Lead Drummer Victor Wray. They gained success in grade 4 winning the All Ireland in 1988 and also the Cowal Drumming in 1988.

The band has had 3 tartans to date, Logan MacLennan, Modern Red McLean and the current Laggan which was designed by the band members in 2012 taking the name Laggan from the area were the band hails.

During the bands history they have brought a lot of pride to the small village and community they belong to. This we hope will continue for many years to come.
